Hello,

Please forgive my off topic, but related, question.

I see the Macbooks are on sale. Yet again, I am tempted, but then of course
I read all the various accounts of blind people struggling with
accessibility on Office for Mac.

One thing I read though is that navigating websites on a Mac is cumbersome
because of the way Apple puts items into containers. I don’t really
understand what that means. I also read that one can configure the track
pad to allow the user to navigate the same way they would on an iDevice.

So, first, are we truly no better off accessibility-wise on the Mac in
terms of advanced word processing? By this I’m referring to formatting,
track changes, comments, footnotes, etc.

Second, does navigating the web with that track pad configuration help get
around some of those navigation issues?

Thank you kindly in advance for any help, and apologies to Mark and Kara
and everyone else if my question is too far left field for this list. I’ve
been lusting after a Macbook for years and occasionally need to be reminded
that despite the quality build, longer battery, and seamless integration
between Mac OSX and iOS, the accessibility just may not be where it needs
to be to remain as proficient as I am on Windows.

Joe
