Hi all,
I'm wondering is it necessary to update one's Airpods and if so what
does one have to do to do that?
Thanks,
Tony

This is what I found with Google.
To pair AirPods 4 with an Apple device, you can do the following:
Open the charging case with your AirPods inside
Hold the case next to your iPhone
A setup animation will appear on your iPhone
Tap Connect
Follow the on-screen instructions
Tap Done
If you're signed in to iCloud, your AirPods will automatically
connect to any other Apple devices that are signed in to the same
Apple account.
To pair AirPods 4 with a non-Apple device, you can do the following:
Make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your device
Open the charging case with your AirPods inside
Hold the case next to your device
Double-tap the front of the case until the status light flashes white
Select your AirPods from the list of Bluetooth devices
If you're having trouble connecting your AirPods, you can try these
steps:
Update your device to the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS
Make sure both AirPods are in the charging case and are charging

Hi there again,
well my wife took a close look all around the airplpods 4th
generation case and definitelyy sees nothing at all!
It is definitely the airpods 4 I possess.
It's quite strange I know that many writing here have a button and I
do not.
Perhaps it's different for Europe I don't know.
I've just connected the buds to my Windows laptop now via bluetooth
just to see what will eventually happen b=but I'm not hopefull.

The button is going to be on the back of the case. It should be
around button you can barely feel that you just push in.

Hi Jenny,
I'm feeling around the case of the airpods 4 and for the life I
can't find that button!
Could someone pls take me through as exactly that button is?
I can ask my wife later to take a look but I'm baffled if I can
find anything even half-resembling anything on the case.

Hello,
Are you putting the Airpods in pairing mode? You have to do this
by pressing the button on the case for about 6 seconds or so.
Hope this helps,
Jenn

I am in the same boat. Only I have been trying to pair my
Second Gen Airpod Pros to my Windows 10 laptop. My laptop sees
my iPhone, and it even sees our TV, but it won't see the Airpods
for some reason.
I am supposed to hold in the button on the side of the case.
When I do that, I hear a tone, but they still don't show up in
the list of devices my laptop sees.
Not sure what to do next, so I gave up on it temporarily.

Hi folk
I have unpaired any other device that was paired to my Windoes
laptop for a start.
Has anyone successfully paired their Airpods 4 to their Windows
PC or laptop pls?
I have tried to pair but with no success whatsoever.
I'm wonder if I'm missing something?
Thanks,
