I prefer holding the phone between your palms, in what would be landscape
orientation, that is the charging port against one hand the top of the phone
against the other, and curl your index, middle, and ring fingers over to the
kind of middle of the phone.

That way, your left hand will do dots 1,2,3 and your right hand will do dots
4,5,6, just like on a perkins that was bent in half, 😊.

Hi Duane and all,

i'm wondering with BSI have you any recommendations as how to place one's
fingers for maximum result?

Should we place them toward the top of our phone, halfway or toward the bottom
of the screen for example?

Thanks,

Tony

I echo all the good thoughts about BSI. APPLE has really done a great job
making the braille screen perform phone commands when a braille device is
absent. I'm one of those people who loves braille, and uses it for all kinds of
daily work. I had never tried using the "command mode" until yesterday, and I
absolutely love it! Thanks for the conversation, and for the complete list of
commands provided on this list.

I would phrase it that BSI command mode is for controlling or navigating the
phone, just like a braille display or bluetooth keyboard. If in command mode,
you pretty much can do the same things as with a braille display only you do
not need a spacebar to make the cord commands. So, h goes to the home screen,
etc.

Yes I see now that braille entry mode is for writing, whilst command mode is

I find I have to be a little slower than normal when entering text with BSI or

I have not used the command mode much, but am considering using it more as it
would be rather efficient I think to just stay in BSI mode and switch between
Command mode and Entry mode.

Hi Richard, all,

I have just seen this post and it's something that I only very recently set my
thoughts to.

I wonder how many folk use BSI and how they find/found it?

I think I'm going to like but wonder first of all how others got on?

Thanks for keystrokes incidentally many of them I coincidentally came across on
a search on Copilot which was interesting.

I thought it was worth posting here as well. I made several additions to the
list and combined a couple that were the same gesture with some of what it did.

So below is what I can sort out is a pretty full list of commands that can be
done with BSI.
