Hi Louise,

The Action Button can only do one thing, but there is a lot of choices.

Apparently, you could download a shortcut to make it work as the home button,
but that won't address getting to the app switcher.

ON my web site, I attempt an explanation of the gestures for home and app
switcher.

It is an audio file.

Gestures for Home Screen, App Switcher, Control Center and Notification Center
with no home button

Here is an MP3 recording to try to help those new to phones with no home
button. It is about four minutes in length.

Subject: graduating to iphone 16e from se2020 with some questions

Hi, list:

I’m finally moving on to the 16e away from the home button which also managed
the app switcher.

My questions are: a. What are the gestures for both getting to the home screen
as well as app switcher?

b. If you move a finger up to the app switcher part of the screen, do you move
your finger down to close the app and return to the home screen?

c. Is it possible to set up the action button to perform a number of tasks or
only one task at a time as arranged in settings?

I received a guide from Apple accessibility on gestures for version 18.0 though
it doesn’t address my above questions.

Thanks for your expert opinions in advance.
