Well, I finally decided to turn on Apple Intelligence on my iPhone 15 Pro.
And when I did, I was firstly surprised to see that my remaining free
storage on the iPhone had increased from 83 something GB to 89 something GB.
And even now, three days later, I still have 87.9 something GB free, almost
88 GB free.

As far as the Apple Intelligence so far, I really don't use it a lot. I
turned off the showing of the email summaries, hopefully, and I sometimes
use ChatGPT as explained below.

After I let the Apple Intelligence install all its needed files, just out of
curiosity, I went to settings/apps and looked to see if ChatGPT was showing
up as installed there. And as I kind of suspected, it was not showing up
there. However, I was of course able to go to settings/apple intelligence
and siri/chatgpt and set it up there, although I did opt to not create an
account.

A few days earlier, having gotten tired of Google prompting me to do so, I
finally installed the Google Gemini app on my iPhone. And to make things
easier for me since I couldn't get Gemini to automatically open the
microphone so I could dictate my question when opening the app, I opted to
put a shortcut to have the app and mic open on the control center. Thus, it
was kind of easy for me to compare responses between Gemini and ChatGPT.

At first, I was kind of surprised when I saw Gemini often giving much more
detailed answers than ChatGPT, even though they both nearly always arrived
at the same overall answer. So then, just for the fun of it, I went to the
app store and installed the actual ChatGPT app from there. And, sure enough,
when I accessed that app directly, I got the similar and more detailed
answers as with Google Gemini.

Thus, best I can tell from querying both chat bots and looking on the web,
the ChatGPT integrated into iOS 18 is a more streamlined version of the
program but without some of the extra features of the ChatGPT app or I'm
guessing what is found on the web for the program. And in fact, although
without being signed in to an account, but with the ChatGPT app installed on
my iPhone, I could very often tell a pretty big difference in the answers
given when I asked Siri to ask ChatGPT versus my going to the app directly.

As for my own use right now, I've decided to leave Google Gemini on my
iPhone for an easy way to quickly be able to get more complete explanations
about issues when I want that. But when I want what is likely to be a much
shorter answer explaining the same thing, then I'll ask Siri to ask ChatGPT,
preferring to know ahead of time when that option is used. I had thought
about also putting a shortcut to ChatGPT in my control center, but it
wouldn't let me put the shortcut that opened the microphone when opening the
app unless I created an account, so I just decided to stick with Gemini for
that since I already had a Google account.
