Hi.
I'm going to provide a step by step on how I use Shazam. I'm sorry if this is
more than you need.
1. Open the app.
2. You should land on a page with a button named "Start Tagging".
3. Activate that button.
4. Now shazam is listening for the music.
5. If it can recognize the song, it will automatically show you the result. If
not, you may need to turn the volume up, or bring the device closer to the
speaker. If it still doesn't work, it may be that the song isn't in Shazams
database.
6. From the result screen, you can see info about the song, such as the title,
and other stuff.
On some results, there may be a link to "preview or buy it in iTunes".
I don't know why it is on some songs, and not others.
7. If you want to tag another song, then tab done in the upper left corner.
8. Now you are back on the screen where you can start tagging.
Hope this is what you need. Oh, and btw, if you want to see your previous tags,
you can go the "My tags" tab down in the bottom left corner. Just be aware that
if you select the "Tag" tab in the bottom just above the home button, it will
automatically start listening.

HTH.
