Hi Ray, The main differences between the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 are this:
It has a significantly faster processor It has 1 Gb of RAM instead of 512 Mb which together with the faster CPU boots the performance even more It uses a new touch screen technology which allows it to be thinner and a bit more responsive Apart from that it has a 4 inch screen instead of a 3.5 inch screen and the new much smaller connector which Apple calls the Lightning connector. Now, having said all this you did mention that you used to have a 3GS and I think you said something like "I never had much luck with it". I am curious what exactly you mean by that. If you mean that you weren't very comfortable using the touch screen interface, then getting a 4S or even a 5 will not make any difference. The interface is the same and you will have to get used to the touch screen, typing on a virtual keyboard at least sometimes and so on. SIRI and Dictation may make some difference as you can definitely use SIRI for some common tasks such as setting an alarm, setting up a reminder etc. Dictation also works well.
