I believe after you tap Save there is an OK button, but it's not a pop up or anything like that. You can always go into the Manage RingTones area and see if your ringtone is there. You have to play it since Voiceover doesn't read the list of ringtones you created, you just hear the tone when you swipe and nothing else and that tells you are on a ringtone. You can then double tap it and play it.
