Hi, speaking as a technologist who regularly teaches alva, humanware, and focus displays, I suggest that braille displays are one of these highly preferential things. The control surfaces and braille cells feel unique to each model. You should put several in your hand if you can, and choose one that feels nice to you.
In terms of quality, alva bc640 is one to avoid since the build is extremely flimsy. Humanware displays have the best build quality. All have two year warrantees. Depending on what screen reader you want to use on windows, some may have better driver support than others. If you have questions about specific ones, email off list and I will. Rey to help if I know the answers.
