I would suggest that you select all the tracks and then do “Get info” with control I. It will ask if you want to edit multiple items. Say yes. Then under the Info tab go to the album choice and put in the name of the album. I would also make sure you have the artist in the artist space Then all the tracks will have the same album name and artist listed. Don’t put in other info unless it applies to all the tracks. I would then tab back to the Info tab and then over to options. Here you can say whether it is a compilation, Whether you want iTunes to remember the place, and whether you want the items skipped when shuffling. There is also a place here to choose what type of material it is, such as music, podcast, audio book, etc..
I recently ripped a book on CD and after each CD was ripped (or before if iTunes could not find the track names) I did this select all, then get info and put in the name of the album or book. Only in the case of multiple CD’s I also filled in the Disk number blank of blank disks so they would stay in order. It worked. Hi Keith, Are you sure you are looking under the “More” tab and then “Album”? You might also want to check “Compellations”. Most of my musicals, however, do show up as an album, e.g. My Fair Lady, Cats etc. Regards, Sieghard From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D. Sent: Thursday, January 10, 2013 8:15 PM To: 'viphone@googlegroups.com' Subject: Ripped 1 CD into iTunes; got 6 partial albums. How to fix? Hi, I ripped a CD of a Broadway musical titled Aida, containing 22 tracks, and syncked to my iPhone. On the iPhone Music app, under Albums, there are now 6 albums titled Aida, some containing 1 track, others containing several tracks, totaling the 22 tracks in all. Some albums are listed as Ensemble, others with the names of different people, but not sure if composers, performers, or what. The tracks are not in proper sequence across the different albums, e.g. on one album is track 12; on another album are tracks 2, 6, 13, 14,, and 22. I just want to listen to this album Track 1 through Track 22. Can anyone explain what happened and why. And, how to get it working in the obvious way? Thanks.
