Digit-eyes is a barcode scanner and works completely differently. If you find the barcode, it works very well. I love it. They have some hints on their site on where to locate barcodes on different items.

Your results may have had nothing to do with whether local services was turned on or not. the more accurate results on the second try might have been from a live person or simply a better scan. With location services off I've scanned the very same object from the very same position and received some variation on accuracy of description. I will add that digit-eyes has not worked a single time I've used it since downloading a couple of days ago. After doing everything I could think of to achieve an accurate scan, I finally gave up, I switched to TapTapSee, and within 5 seconds TapTapSee described the very same objects Digit-Eyes failed to describe. I'm going to read a bit more Digit-Eyes and experiment a bit, but I think I'm ultimately going to request a refund--I'd just hate to waste so much of my time trying to make it work. I decided to experiment with TapTapSee location services if they are really necessary. I took a T-shirt that had something written on it. At first, I used the a without location services on. It only told me that it was red and blue. Wen I turned on location services on, it told me what was on the shirt. It said, "Mind, the Gap." With location services on, I got more accurate results. ,i decided to keep location services turned on. I hope this helps others decide what option they will choose.
