Please note that UPC / EAN codes are symmetrical and there is no "updside down"; there can, however, be issues reading them sideways (90 degree rotation) or diagonally (anything other than 0, 90 or 180 degrees.
For the record, Digit-Eyes is an omnidirectional scanner. With Red Laser, you have to get the code pretty close to square and into an invisible box. When we designed Digit-Eyes, we understood that this was not a reasonable requirement for people who were using the product eyes-free, so our scanner can read codes regardless of the angle as long as the entire code (meaning "with the start and end markers") is present.
