I apologize to all of those who have been blind since birth in regards to
possibly never having the experience of taking a picture. I lost my sight
in my early forties to the level that I am at currently (light
perception). Prior to that photography was a hobby of mine and I was
usually the one in the family who took the pictures of the kids. That old
muscle memory came back when I began to use all of the object recognition
and OCR apps for the phone. The most essential steps in taking any picture
is to center the objects, correct lighting, and keeping the camera as
still as you can. When using TapTapSee, I employ the principles that
Sandra Tompkins has explained so well when using any of the OCR apps. It
does take practice and lots of it. I encourage all to persevere with this
because I have received great results, which have assisted me in utilizing
Looktel Recognizer. HTH.

have to say I do get frustrated I have managed to do it a couple of times
but I do seem to be getting more misses but as the saying goes, practice
makes perfect and that's what you have to do I guess.

Cans seem to be the hardest but I've found that in general the seam
of the label should go on the left about at the 9 o'clock place and it may
take a few shots to get it right and it may require moving the iPhone
closer or further back. I place my iPhone on the kitchen island standing
up. The can to be examined is about a foot away from my iPhone. To the
right or behind the phone is the kitchen window so light shines on the
can's label. I could get a shot that says Hormel Chili. Informative, but
not much help so I moved the phone a few inches closer and nailed it.
Hormel Chili no beans.
Boxes of pasta were far easier. I could get it to identify the brand
and the style of pasta. With bottles, I could get it to identify KC
Master peace barbecue sauce but it took 2 tries as the first time I had
the bottle facing backward.
Tap Tap for a free app is becoming one of my favorites.

it's a huge factor. If you've got a bottle of wine from a source

Engine database doesn't know about, it's not going to be able to
