I like the iBooks book reader from Apple. It's fully accessible and they offer a wide range of free and paid books. You can flick 2 fingers down the screen for continuous reading with voice over. A single tap on the screen lets you pause reading if say somebody knocks on your door etc. A tap starts reading again. Books are stored in an iTunes folder under iTunes Media called, books. Very catchy name. There is a sub folder in the books folder called Audio Books. I've never bought an audio book but sense I didn't create it, I have to assume it came with the installation of the iBooks reader.
Books you download or buy get synced to this folder so your books are backed up or you can move them out of that folder for storage elsewhere such as on a USB external hard drive etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: Donna Neff To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Wednesday, February 13, 2013 2:06 PM Subject: RE: Nook- what is accessible and what is not? Cher, The Barnes & Noble Nook APP is very accessible. You will love it! Establish an online account with Barnes & Noble first; purchase the book (and/or books) you want; then download the Nook APP on your i-Phone. After the APP has been installed, open it, use the ID and password you created with your online account to sign in, and You're in business. The Nook APP even provides a brief tutorial so you can familiarize yourself with the few basics you'll need to know. Have fun and happy Nooking. I thought that the Nook reader was supposed to be inaccessible, right? But from reading messages on this list, apparently there is a Nook app which is formatted to be accessible? Needing basic Nook remedial education here ;) Cher -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
