I've used Skype video calls to help me get numbers off new credit cards for verification purposes, and in one memorable vacation, used a "plant cam," set-up with the AIM video-chat feature to help take care of a friend's garden in Maine, while she and her husband were on honey-moon. I'm familiar with the "move it to the left, little right, up a bit, now down, down, down left… left…" syndrome. :) We didn't have time to rig an independent mobile arm for the camera.
