Hi.

Your iPhone has GPS built into it.  Even if you bought an external receiver,
you'd still need a data plan to get updated maps, since the maps are stored
in the cloud.  Not to worry, though.  Apps like Navigon store the maps on
the iPhone, so all you'd do is download what you'd need via WI-FI, then go
on your merry way.  You'll save money just using the 3GS's built in GPS
receiver, since it doesn't use the data network.
