Hi Paul, I can help you better if you give just a bit more detail. :) Are you doing the gesture that the game's welcome screen describes? Are you using two fingers on the same hand or using a finger on separate hands? this can also work to perform the gesture you'll need.

There are the metallic sounds as you turn the virtual dial and there are louder click sounds when you come to each number. The gentle bell-like tone is mixed in with the louder click when you come to the number that you are to enter into the lock.
