I'll agree that RSS certainly has its place. I certainly do still use it.
Because at times it's much easier to weed through it & find certain things.
If you miss several hours on twitter, you can miss a great deal of articles.
However, I do think that perhaps the way that google is looking at it as
that overall, RSS isn't what it once was. I guess that my larger point in
all this was & still is. That somewhere someone wanted to make this an issue
with all things blindness going away. This isn't nor will ever be a
blindness issue & if everything that happens gets turned in to one when a
real issue does pop up that is no one at that point is listening as all the
little issues have been complained about & made blindness issues along the
way. This is the last I'll say on this subject.

It's hard to argue that the relevance of RSS hasn't diminished somewhat
over the years, but with the rise of social networking and just the
sheer amount of information on the web, that could be said for a lot of
things. As far as mostly being replaced by Twitter, that's just not the
case for me. Maybe there's a Twitter client and service out there I'm
not aware of, but I haven't found anything that's as easy to setup and
use to get updates on the pages I want to follow as RSS and Google
Reader in particular. If I have to rely on Twitter, I'll be spending a
lot more time to get at much less relevant information.

much taken its place. &, the line posted somewhere in this thread about
everything accessible to the blind going away? Really?

Talk about a major bummer.
Can anyone recommend accessible alternatives to Reader? Something
that would work with apps for i-devices too? I’m currently using
Feedller on boht my iPad and iPhone. I’ve got over two hundred and
fifty subscriptions and even though I use my pc a lot, I’ve gotte to
the point where I reach for my phone or iPad to sift through the
various rss entries as much as I do through the computer. This is
really going to suck.
