Sieghard,

From what I have read, I am not sure if the StanScan can exactly be compared with the KNFB Reader in terms of portability. I would be glad to be corrected, but the StanScan Pro can't exactly be ported in your pocket. You must carry an extra appendage with you in the form of a small bag or purse which belies portability in the first place. True, the KNFB solution was a thousand dollars but it was the portability solution you could take to a restaurant reasonable with this bag or purse.

Again, I would be happy to be corrected on my assertion, but this is the way I have read this debate thus far.

Hi Marco,

I don't think it's that scanning with the computer and a flatbed scanner is
not "in vogue". The Scanstand is the ultimate portable solution and in
connection with an iPhone and an OCR app it allows a user who travels to
have the most portable scanning solution there is and still get excellent
results.

A Standscan is $30, Prizmo is $10 and I already have my iPhone, so for $40 I
now have a scanning solution which is probably as good as the KNFB Reader
which was what, about $1,500?

Sieghard

So is scanning docs via the laptop not in vogue any more? I don't have the
money to buy this latest gadget. At least I don't at the moment.

Hallo to all, but especially those who have received their StandScan Pros,

I wonder, will people consider giving feed-bakc to the list as to how
you are finding the box and if it has improved your scanning/ocr experience?

We have seen, on list, a massive growth of interest in this product and
so it would be good to hear if it lives up to expectation. plus, if you are
having problems, their solutions may be resolvable by the rest of us. Also,
if, as I hope, this is really a game changer for us, it may hae other
consequences for future improvements/innovations.

Anyhow, I am desperate to know if I have done wrong in promoting this
product or if it has hit the spot!

     Suspenceful Sandy.
