Hi, Donna, You can delete apps that you place on the phone and not the built-in ones. To delete an app, double-tap and hold it until you hear the rising tones. Now double-tap it and you'll get a tone with a confirmation message. Then press the home key once you've deleted to get out of that edit mode. Otherwise you'll get the confirmation message for deleting other apps when you double-tap.
