I just tested the new version of Money reader with both old and new Canadian bills and some American bills. I found that recognition was about the same, 1 or 2 seconds max, but the app does not seem to always recognize all sides of a bill. I would hold up a bill and it said nothing and as soon as I flipped it over it would recognize it immediately. This seems to be especially true for the new Canadian bills, it seems to only recognize the side with the dots on it. I'll try and find the time to write to the developers to see what the official response to this is. The Canadian dollar which is the only other currency I have acces to right now is a bit slower. I wrote the developer and they told me that this was normal for the pound and Australian dollar also.
