Great, about 99% of the time when I am working on e-mail, iTunes is open.
Glad it works for some, and I suppose I could forward to my phone e-mail if
it were that important but I can also type search terms and get results on
the computer, and if I must on the phone.

That has not been my experience at all.  The link for the app usually opens
up in iTunes for me assuming you have it running.  If you don't have iTunes
running, you might get the web page in your browser in which case you have
to find the "view in itunes" link for the app on that page.
