Hi Scott and All,
Of course, I would never want you to violate a NDA. However,
although I can't say for sure about the Edge as I have the Sense
notetaker products; but, on the Tek Talk of Monday, May 13, about
two thirds of the way through the program, I believe Jenny Axler
from HIMS describes the upcoming features of the Braille Edge.

Hi Ahmed.
There are more controls on the Edge than the Focus 40 for some
types
of navigation. Also, there will be a new feature coming out with
the
Braille Edge firmware which will give it some added
functionality. I
don't think I'm at liberty to talk about it yet, since I'm beta
testing it.
However, as you have most certainly found out if you have been
following this entire thread, no one display is going to be the
best
for everyone. Some people prefer 40 cells and others prefer
fewer
cells. Also, the feel of the braille on one device over another
is
going to appeal to some and not to other people.
All the best,
Scott

Hi,
I use a new kid on the block with my iphone very successfully,
the Seika
Mini braille display. I was looking for something small and
lightweight
which I could take out and about, so I chose that one. It's
only 16 cells
but I'm pleased with the quality of the braille. It's not too
sharp which
some braille displays can be. It works well with the iphone
too.
Take care,
Cokes.

Size is OK but I just can't seem to adjust to reading long
amounts of
anything with it.

I have always liked Humanware displays Myself but maybe that is
because I used their note taking devices for so long. The
braille
seems to be more crisper then with other displays. Although I
do like
the 14 cell display that freedom scientific has.

Hi Annie and all. I forgot to add in my last message that I
have
found 32
cells to be the perfect portable reading length for me In my
search
for a Bluetooth display I could have easily gone with a model
which
has 32-cells, but something about the Focus 40 Blue really sold
me on
it and if they would have had a 32-cell version, I would have
been
there instead. I know the handytech ones and Humanware ones are
proven
and are work-horses, but maybe I'm just drawn to new and shiny
things.
I don't know. Only time will tell how well the Focus 40 Blue
pans out.
From the few people I've spoken with who have one, they have
been
impressed also, and holding it in my hands, and using it with my
iPhone during a presentation felt nice. I of course realize
that using
something for 45 minutes isn't the same as for a week or longer,
but
still, I liked it.
