Really, I can pick mine up and turn them on and they work even if my phone has been on for hours, in fact, I have never turned off the phone just to connect the headset. My husband has no problems either and he turns his phone off less often than I, I generally restart mine each morning before I leave for work after I have cleared out the app switcher, seems to give me a touch more battery life.
