I would also be interested if anyone comes across anything, either for 
temperature, or other pool tests.
the only thing I found which had various sensors to do those tests, was the 
talking labquest, which is prohibitively expensive.

No, I haven't heard of that one.  I'm also looking for some way to read test
strips.  I did find one company, but you have to lay the strip on a coded
card and then snap a picture, which is kind of problematic.  If you can get
the picture correctly, you can read the results from your iPhone.
