Eric,

I posted a few messages about the Booking.com app which is probably one of
the most complete hotel booking apps with over 300,000 hotels and Bed and
Breakfasts offered worldwide. I contacted the company in mid May because
while the app was fully accessible, once you did a search and ended up on
the results page, Voiceover was very slow and sluggish and you couldn't
swipe through the results properly. If you did pick a hotel by double
tapping on it, then the rest of the booking process was fully accessible
again.

I received an immediate reply regarding my request and was told that this
would be passed on to the developers. A week or so later I received another
message (without asking) that the development team was looking into this.
About another week or 10 days later I received a third message saying that
the development was in the process of making changes which would improve
Voiceover accessibility and that these improvements would be available in
the next update. It took about 2 weeks for the update to appear on the app
store, but it did come out in mid June and now the app works perfectly.
There are still a few buttons which could maybe be labeled a bit better, but
nothing is so that one can't figure it out easily.

Booking.com is a pretty large organization and I was very impressed with
their reaction, it was basically a month from when I contacted them until
the improved app was available in the app store.

Kayak works quite well, too, but I like Booking.com because it integrates
with Passbook and so does the Air Canada app which is very accessible so at
least for most of my domestic travel here in Canada I can have all my
confirmations, boarding passes and so on in Passbook and I find that very
convenient.

The Trip Advisor app is by the way also accessible and a good resource if
you want to check out ratings and reviews of hotels, attractions and
activities. I booked my entire Thailand trip using mostly Booking.com and
Trip Advisor. When I was there I did use an app called Thai Flight to book
some in-country flights.

If you search for "booking.com" you should find my previous posts quite
easily in the archives since it's a unique search term.

Regards,
Sieghard
