Joe, One of the advantages of the server based maps in the Seeing Eye app, as
opposed to other Sendero offerings, where the maps are on the device, is that,
when they get map updates, those will immediately be available to app users,
since it is all on the server. Of course, Apple maps is also server based. But
to the best of my knowledge, Apple maps doesn't describe intersections like
Sendero does. Nor do you have the option of the look around for nearby pois and
intersections like Sendero has. Apple maps has that feature where you can
explore the route by touch on the screen. But my limited experimentation with
that was more frustrating than anything else, because of the limited screen
real estate on the phone. I thought it was a cool idea but not all that useful
in reality.
