Joe, One of the advantages of the server based maps in the Seeing Eye app, as opposed to other Sendero offerings, where the maps are on the device, is that, when they get map updates, those will immediately be available to app users, since it is all on the server. Of course, Apple maps is also server based. But to the best of my knowledge, Apple maps doesn't describe intersections like Sendero does. Nor do you have the option of the look around for nearby pois and intersections like Sendero has. Apple maps has that feature where you can explore the route by touch on the screen. But my limited experimentation with that was more frustrating than anything else, because of the limited screen real estate on the phone.
