To add to this, you can also delete the voices you don't want to use to save space. This is also in settings. The applevis podcast is really super. It is very thorough.

Once you are in Settings, go to Languages. English is selected and it will say something like "14 voices. If you double tap on English a screen opens where you can select any of these voices. I never had noticed this either and I selected Tracy which I think is a nice American English voice, Heather is also an option and so is Ryan and Will. Once I double tapped Back a few times to get bac to the main screen, I was then told that in order to have full functionality of the voice I selected, it had to be downloaded. I double tapped on OK, and BlindSquare is currently downloading Tracy. This is pretty slow as all voices are pretty large files so you might want to keep this in mind if you don't have a lot of space left on your iPhone. One nice thing is that it seems like these voices are available for no extra in-app purchase cost unlike apps like Voice Dreamreader where you have to buy extra voices.
