First, Robert, Kliphton's link worked fine for me, but it's the kind of iTunes link which causes Internet Explorer to pop up a screen asking for permission to open iTunes, it looks like this: Internet Explorer Do you want to allow this website to open a program on your computer? From: itunes.apple.com Program: iTunes Address: itms://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vlc-for-ios/id650377962?mt=8&ign-mscache=1 Always ask before opening this type of address Allow Cancel Allowing web content to open a program can be useful, but it can potentially harm your computer. Do not allow it unless you trust the source of the content. What's the risk? The "Allow" and "Cancel" are buttons and if you activate Allow, iTunes will open, the page with t VL?C Media Player will load and you can read the description and, if you want, download it straight to your computer. If you have automatic downloads enabled on your iPhone, this means it will also be installed to your phone without you even touching it. Now, Don, as I said, VLC is a media player which also exists for many other platforms like the PC, the Mac etc. It is one of those open source projects and it plays just about any format there is. The iOS app seems fully accessible although you have to use iTunes to transfer files to the application. There is also Dropbox support although I am not using the app so I can't explain step-by-step how to set it up and you can open web streams. This information and more is available on the VLC website, the iOS description is very short and does not go into details about features like many descriptions usually do. It has 3 lines of text with 1 spelling mistake: VLC iOS is a port of the famous free media player to iDevices. It can play all your movies and shows in most formats directly without conversion. VLC on iOS is completly free and open source.
