It ceases to be uncontracted as soon as they use a contraction like AND as 
you suggest.  The ANd sign is an Ampersand in real life which can be used on 
Grade1 and computer braille.  My previous suggestion with the ? mark showed 
a divertion between symbols. Switching contractions Off can simplify things 
no end hwen it starts to go pear-shaped.  That last phrase - pear-hsaped - 
gives plenty of scope to use variations of contractions to achieve the 
same - p'ea'r, p'e'ar for example;  don't know what the sh and ED symbols 
are in real life either.

That's not the same as Computer Braille. Computer Braille is where each
dot pattern represents a character typically found in computing, such as
on a standard computer keyboard. Uncontracted Braille however still uses
a small number of shorthand signs, such as a dot pattern for and.
