Thisis all true, too; the least touch and you got ' and ,comma and gawd knows what. I am still practicing with the iPad to find good fixing points like you have with the away mode on the phone. The key to me is that, while you have thumbs and little fingers in fixed locations off the screen before you start, your fingers for typing are in the right place hwen you do start. So looking for something similar in the new iPad mode with a Perkins style line up along one edge, though you're not limited to the edge; so trying little fingers at the ends and thumbs in the middle of the nearest edge, and taking this position before putting fingers near the touch screen. Seems quite good so far, takes refinement to space the fingers out enough after, but this is ever about practice, experiment, and practice some more.
