Hi Penny,

Yes, it does matter because BlindSquare also uses the compass to indicate
where a particular point of interest is and the compass works in such a way
that the top of the phone is North or on the clockface, 12 o'clock. It does
not matter if the phone is flat or on edge as long as the top of the phone
is pointing in the direction you are walking, but if you have the phone in a
bag or your pocket and it points straight up and down or across your body
you will not get correct information.
