There has been a bit of discussion about using espr. You don't have to buy it to get it. There are some quests and buildings which will supply it to you, albeigt in small amounts at a time. I've saved up and have used it to build shops that require espr to build. I do not use it for food since, as was already said food restocks over time. Espr can be accumulated over time, tu.
