Hi Reggie, battery life in the iPad is far longer than the iPhone, because the device is larger and the battery has a far higher capacity. The external charger you have will charge your iPad, but depending on the charger's capacity it may or may not fully charge it. Certainly you'll get fewer charges of your iPad with the external battery before needing to recharge it than you will get chargers of the iPhone.
