My wife and I just bought a new car and I'm interested in the features that
will be coming where messages and email can be read to you and spoken voice
guidance for driving directions. Although they do not benefit me directly,
never the less, my butt will still be in the car as a passenger not to
mention that my world sits in the drivers seat. So I'm looking forward to
reading as much as I can about ios 7.

I've heard from several people that VoiceOver users won't be able to get
much out of IOS 7 because it's focus is on the visual aspect. Although
that is a focus, there seems to be a lot in IOS 7 that we'll be able to
take advantage of. In fact, when I look at
http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/ I see very few features that we won't
benefit from.
* The Control Center.
* The Notification Center, and it's new views.
* The improvements to multitasking and anticipating what apps I'll be
using next.
* More efficient use of battery power, such as when schedules are being
updated.
* The camera, video and filter improvements, which I probably won't be
taking advantage of much myself.
* Air Drop, which I think is a truly big deal.
* Not all of the Safari changes may not be beneficial to VoiceOver users,
but the new interface to the tabs, the iCloud key chain, the smart
URL/search bar all seem like we'd benefit from those changes.
* iTunes Radio
* All of the new Siri improvements.
* The App Store updates including automatic updates.
* Security improvements.
* I'm not sure how much this will help blind users, but as a passenger, I
can see myself using some of the new integration features with IOS in your
car.
* I don't see why we wouldn't be able to take advantage of the IOS at work
features.

Hmm, to me nothing sounds overly exciting to Voiceover users, I probably
am
wrong but it isn't mentioned and so many of the new things seem to rely
heavily on visual effects. Just what I get from hearing the podcast and
reading the page.

I found the following site with Google the other day, and I know I've
seen
it posted to this or another list recently, but here's Apple's page on
the
IOS 7 features: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/

Hi,
I didn't get to listen to the presentation about the new phones, but I'm
interested to know about the new operating system. Is there anywhere I
can
go to hear more about the details of I OS7?
Thanks,
Sandy.
