I don't blame you a bit. I wouldn't do it either. If you were going from a 4S to a iPhone 6, I could understand that.

I'm sticking with my 4S for now. Maybe I'll be tempted to upgrade before the next iPhone comes out, but I'm not unhappy with my iPhone 4S, and I don't see anything in the 5S right now that compels me to upgrade. I don't see this as a failing of Apple, and I'm not passing judgment on anyone who does choose to upgrade. The 4S just meets my needs right now, and I personally don't see a reason to spend the money to get a 5S.

I am torn myself.
I have the 4S, and waited until this came out, but I am wondering if
it is
really worth spending money for it, or just wait until another year or so
and see if something else comes afloat.

Those are my views as well. This will be a great upgrade for those of us
that are on the 4s cycle and eligible for an upgrade with their
carrier of
choice. For those on an iPhone 5, although the 5s has some really nice
improvements, it probably wouldn't be worth paying full price for one and
would make more sense waiting a year for the iPhone 6. I'm definitely
going
for the 5s but I have to admit thatg I'm somewhat disappointed that
there's
no pre-order possible for that model. Not sure but I believe Apple's
thinking behind that is wanting to create more excitement and crazy
lines at
the retail stores.

Hi, these are my thoughts as well. When I got the 4S in February last
year
and then saw the 5 out later that year it wasn't worth it to upgrade. Not
only that, but it was too soon money-wise, but with the differences
between
4S and 5S, and the time elapsed, it's worth it to me and I'll be getting
this one. I'm looking forward to the new 64-bit chip and a better camera.
The fingerprint capabilities is also a nice thing to me.

bit a7 processor, two led flash, wide camera aperture, a more precise
motion
tracking system, and fingerprint unlocking. The first three will provide
significantly improved OCR, object recognition, barcode scanning, and
colour
recognition. The fourth will provide more accurate motion tracking for
things like distance measurement and certain types of app / Siri
activation.
The fifth will provide much better, and yet more convenient security.

mentioned the 5 will be no longer available?
