With the help of Jonathan Mosen's book, I figured out how to unlock my phone using the fingerprint I created. You rest your finger on the home button to activate the print. It does require for you to rest your finger on the right area, but practice will improve this skill. I really like this feature. I have a passcode set up, so if I am unable to use my phone, my wife has the code and she can unlock if necessary. For every day use, the fingerprint will be used. It's easier, and the passcode will not be verbalized for others to hear. This is a feature I thought I would never use, but I'm pleasantly surprised to report that I will; it's a great addition with the iPhone 5S.
