Hi, it has to do with small glitches in the mark up or whatever they use as part of the daisy conversion. The announcements are there still from the cassette recording imports, but there is code which tells the player to skip at point x and jump to point y. This is far faster to do than editing the recordings to take out the cassette announcements. I've seen the Victor reader and the Book Sense do the same thing as well. However I would write the BARD NLS email address and hope that they have an unlimited mailbox size so they can go through all of it when someone is home.

rewind button and held it down and heard 5 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes
and stopped there. /the book continued on reading but where I heard the
announcement end of side three, it didn't play it. It just read as if
that part never even happened. I have no clue why or how that happened
and to be honest about it, I don't care either it was just one of those
weird things you come across once in a wile. I'm not trying to start a

*Subject:* Interesting bug in Bard App

    Greetings:
The bug I am about to describe only occurs when reading a Bard book
that was converted from cassette to digital format. Here's what
happens. You are reading along, and you suddenly hear a phrase such
as "end of side x" where X is any side number. Suddenly, the book
jumps back by at least one navigation unit. How far the book jumps
back depends upon the mark up present in the book. In some books,
this can be a chapter, while in others whose mark up is not as
thorough, you can jump to the beginning of a part or story you are
    reading.
I realize that nothing can be done about this until the Government
opens again, I wonder, however, if anyone else has encountered this one.
