OK I re-read that, show on lock screen, now the screen stays black, when the message comes in, nothings read and just the text tone is played. this may have to do, but I know for a long time my screen did come on, message was displayed visually on the screen along with the text sound. Then it would say the time and one notification. strang indeed.
