Which Siri voice are you using, male or female? Both the female and male
siri voices do sound different from what Siri used before. They are
supposed to be of higher quality and to my ears, this is the case.

Besides what was already mentioned about the HQ voices, make sure you upgrade
to the latest OS version. If your 5s came with v7.0 installed, upgrading the
firmware will fix a distortion issue that was present in 7.0. It was only
noticeable at full volume as I recall but this was fixed in IOS 7.01 I believe.
