I wouldn't call POP an inferior protocol. It's just different with it's own set of pros and cons. the key is to know how each protocol works and which will best meet your needs. I'm guessing you've already done this Doug, which is why you're asking the question you are, and you probably don't care what Sieghard and I think about the relative merits of each protocol.
