Are you sure you are touching the stainless ring as well as the center of the button that reads your print? Not touching the ring will kill your chances of having your print scanned. Also, I noticed that it doesn't work well with a wet finger. Also, in our Canadian climate, I noticed that it a bit slow at recognizing your print if your fingers are super cold. These are points that make the finger recognition not berfect but still extremely good. As a general rule, I have no problems with it.
