Well said, Ed, it’s amazing how upset some people get when something that was free or cheaper suddenly costs something or costs more. I remember when Fleksy first came out it was $14.99, then it dropped to $4.99 and then it was free. This was the reverse yet then of course some people (I do say “some” because others had no problem with this) complaint because they bought it and now it was free.
Of course it doesn’t matter that this happens evey day at your local supermarket, drug store or department store. Stuff goes on sale and stuff goes off sale, some stuff gets cheaper and some stuff increases in price. Just because Tap Tap See, same developer as Camfind, by the way, offered their service for free for a year or so doesn’t mean they have to continue to do so if they realize they can’t keep it up and they are losing money. Having said that, everybody of course decides what they want to spend money on and what not, we all have to set our priorities. But bashing the app because now sending a picture costs 8 Cents and not every picture comes back with the perfect answer somebody is looking for or because somebody maybe hasn’t learned to take proper pictures certainly is not very constructive. And every time we click a picture, if it gets answered, there goes another credit, even if the answer is wrong. This isn’t right. Somehow if we get the information wrong we should be able to somehow make tap-tap-see aware of this and they should refund the credit back to us in my opinion. I am blind not dense. Next came back with numbers. Oops! wrong side so I flip it over. Then next I get, "white paper with black text". No kidding! Next I finally am treated to the actual fortune. Now I had another one stuffed in my jacket pocket so I decided since I was in picture wasting mode I might as well try for more. First was fortune cookie paper, then text on white paper, then numbers, my bad again, turn it over. Then back to same stuff different side. Finally, the words I had been waiting to hear. all in all, 11 pictures wasted before outcome is achieved. I have paid for 100 pictures and feel this is a huge rip off. If I had a way to ask even though in this case I don't feel I should have to state the obvious, A lot of time and wasted effort could have been eliminated. Any thoughts anybody?
