Hi Sieghard,

In a previous message, you wrote, "In the same way, if you for example add a
song that is on an external USB

hard drive to your iTunes music library and then disconnect the drive, the

song can't be played any more. If you press enter on the song in your iTunes

library the program is looking for your external drive and if it can't find

it it will show it as a broken link.

Now, having said all that, all you have to do to add a song or a bunch of

songs from a folder to your iTunes library is to go to the File menu and

choose ither to "Add File" or "Add Folder". This will open a fairly familiar

Windows dialogue box where you can browse to your song or the folder where

your songs are, then activate the "Select" button and after a moment you

hear the iTunes tri-tone and at that point your song or songs should be

available in your library."

Is there a way to copy a song or folder from an external hard drive that
will not result in the broken link that you discussed in this message?

Suzanne
