Hello: I’ve had the same issue also. Actually, I find it a very big disappointment given the app’s creator: one would expect more for the money.

I noticed the other night when I was walking home from the pool that ‘the Seeing Eye app did not announce upcoming intersections while I was playing Audible. I started my route at the pool to go back to my house (about 2.5 Km/1.5 miles) and since it was 9:30 at night and I live in a small town where I usually don’t encounter any people on this particular walk and not even a lot of cars, I put my iPhone into my jacket’s chest pocket after I started the route and after I then started my audio book playing. The Seeing Eye app would tell my my turns, but not announce upcoming intersections. At first I didn’t even really notice, but then when I did I paused my book to check this and here it was telling me my intersections again. This is on an iPhone 5S.
