Okay! So we all know that camfind is great at recognising colours and identifying products, but it can do quite a lot more! Four example, I just used CamFind to take a shot of the front page of the review supplement of my newspaper: now, this is not an OCR app, it just identified the section of newspaper that I photographed. However, when I slipped down the results page, I discovered I could actually choose to read that section of paper online. I know that many newspapers already exist online and, indeed, this one does. But the ease and sense of the world being more accessible to me was just so nice!
Plus, when I identified a jar of bacon flavoured soya bits, camFind not only offered me many places to buy them more cheaply, but, also, pages of information about how they are made, food values, whether they are healthy, and all the rest of that kind of information. Then I took a shot of my dressing gown and discovered, which I already knew of course, that it is black! Perhaps, more important than anything else, the camera function on ththe CamFind is the most forgiving of all the camera apps I have used. If you haven't given it a try, I would really recommend it and, most importantly, it is free.
