Hi Robert, I still have an old iPad one. It is stuck in iOS 5. If that doesn't bother you, and the price is cheap enough, why not? I suppose it depends on what you want to do with the device and how long you expect it to last. For instance, I can still read the books, Kindle books, and audible books, not to mention iBooks, on my old iPad. IBlink Radio works fine. It is rather slow compared to the new devices. But many things still work just fine. Mary
