Because I am still having issues with the native Messages app on my iPhone, I 
want to repair iOs, and was directed to look for it in the Summary radio button 
of iTunes after connecting, syncing, and backing up my phone. I only see 
"restore iPhone" with no other apparent options.  I suspect this is not the 
same thing, as I have done this before, and there has never been an option to 
run a repair, which is what I need. Help would be appreciated.
