I know it has been discussed on the list before about the iphone speaker sometimes not turning off. But, until my battery usage time did go down a bit when upgrading to iOS 7.1, I hadn't noticed the problem with my iphone 4S speaker. But, now, even after the phone has been locked for several minutes, I find myself often being able to hear the humming noise, if you will, from the speaker whenever I would put the speaker end of the phone up to my ear.

I played around with things a bit, and am able to duplicate this every time I've tried. Meaning, if I use the dictation feature, say to search for something on the iPhone or to dictate a text message, then the speaker just doesn't shut off once I've pressed the lock button. And, the only way I've found to fix this, short of rebooting the phone, is to use Siri to turn off VoiceOver, and then turn VoiceOver back on with Siri or the triple click home. Now, just using Siri, doesn't cause this speaker problem. But, once it does occur, I do need to use Siri to turn off VoiceOver to fix it, as for some reason using the triple click home to turn it off doesn't stop the speaker noise.
