It's a cardboard box which can fold flat and which acts as a stand for your iPhone when you want to scan a document using an app like Prizmo, Text Grabber etc. The box is open on one side, you put your paper in the bottom and your iPhone on top, you take the picture of the document through a hole and if you get the Standscan Pro it has LED lights which ensure you have optimal lighting which is important for getting good scan results.
